Cave-In or Hole/Sinkhole

Cave-ins, or holes in the ground, are serious and potentially hazardous situations that may have been caused by a failing pipe, catch basin or drainage canal that has failed or “caved in”. This will not only adversely impact drainage in the surrounding area, but it creates a situation where serious injuries can occur if the public or passersby are unaware and step into the hole. If you need to report a cave-in or hole, please contact as soon as possible and specify the location of the cave-in, the nature of its condition, and restrict access to the area if at all possible until Parish crews arrive to assess the situation. Please also specify whether or not you are aware of recent sewer construction or work that may have been done in your area as this will help our team dispatch the appropriate maintenance team to address the issue.
