Standing water or, in more serious cases, flooding, is often attributable to heavy periods of rainfall that exceed the immediate processing capacity of the Parish drainage system. If you notice an area where standing water exists, including roadways where it appears unsafe for motorists to pass, please contact 3-1-1 and specify the location of the standing water or area that is flooding. Please be as specific as possible when you contact 3-1-1 with the nature of the issue, such as how long the water has remained after it has stopped raining and how deep the water is on the street. Providing us with this level of detailed information will help better direct our crews to address these issues.
